KARI-METTE ASTRUP
RECEIVES SPECIAL RECOGNITION


Artist KARI-METTE ASTRUP of LARVIK, NORWAY has received a“Special Recognition” Merit Award for the artwork entitled “Waiting for Daddy” in the "9th Annual Judeo-Christian International Juried Online Art Exhibition” hosted by www.upstreampeoplegallery.com.

This international exhbition received over 500 entries from around the world and 97 artists were selected by the juror Larry Bradshaw, Professor of Art at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Professor Bradshaw states this about ths specially recognized work:

“Kari-Mette Astrup of Larvik, Norway in an impasto technique, presents “Waiting for Daddy”. This state of expectancy generates thoughts about waiting for the father figure, waiting for that special someone in anticipation and hope.”

The exhibition will be on display online in April at www.upstreampeoplegallery.com and continue for 12 months, closing March 31, 2008.

"The painting, “Waiting for Daddy”, is an acrylic painting, 60x50cm. The motive reflects a melancholy expression. (Especially these days, when many children miss contact with one parent.)
